GARDENING Pretty peas IN THE GARDEN With Tina Hyde 62 www.visitilife.com F or me annual sweet peas are one of the loveliest flowers of early summer evoking memories of old gardens and summers long past. Blooming in every shade from white to darkest purple with the exception of yellow, they’re a great way of adding height to a border and they make the most wonderful cut flowers too. Some varieties are highly scented whilst others have been bred to produce larger flowers at the expense of their fragrance. I prefer the scented varieties and grew some for the first time in a long while last summer, I really enjoyed the luxury of being able
