T
he most powerful production MINI
to date, the “John Cooper Works”
is to say the least, a nippy little
package. With a price tag of £23,050,
it’s not exactly cheap - but you do get
your money’s worth, because driving this
super MINI will undoubtedly put a smile
on your face from ear to ear.
Firstly, the looks! The JCW is a great
looking car that has obvious aesthetic
enhancements over the standard MINI
Cooper S. One of the first things you
notice are the 18-inch wheels that fill
the arches, together with the larger air
intakes, styled bumpers, diffuser, roof
spoiler and a new front grille, which
combine to give the JCW its much
sportier look. Another nice touch is the

abundance of JCW badges located all
over the car. You get the choice of 11
paint colours, including Rebel Green,
which is exclusive to the JCW.
Moving into the interior you’ll find a
few goodies that are not included in the
Cooper S. For starters there are snug
bucket seats trimmed in Carbon Black
Dinamica fabric as standard, or with an
option for leather if you prefer, at extra
cost. There are other small touches such
as the Multi-function steering wheel
and stainless steel pedals both of course
bearing the JCW logos. Another nice
feature is the anthracite headlining,
which complements the piano black trim
and red stitching. However, as with other
MINIs in the range, there is an abundance
of switches on the dash. The JCW comes
with a wealth of standard kit, including
