TRY THIS ROUTE: The Yarmouth Circular
This route has been adapted from Alan Rowe’s great
book, Isle of Wight Cycle Routes.
Start at the old Yarmouth Railway Station. This
is home of Wight Cycle Hire, where you can rent
beautiful bikes for a half day or more. Tel: 01983
761 800.

Look for the sign ‘Public Bridleway Y19 Freshwater
1 ¾‘ and then follow the numbered route shown on
this map. Stop off at the pretty town of Yarmouth
(A) for a cappuccino and promenade along the pier.
Or take a break at beautiful Norton Spit (B) and the
Western Yar Estuary (C) where you can spot rare birds
and plants. Also look out for the Island’s famous red
squirrels (D). Enjoy your ride!
