Memorial Ploughing
Match at Shorwell
T
he seventh annual Memorial
Ploughing Match will take
place on Sunday April 12 at
New Wolverton Farm, Shorwell, by
kind permission of Prof and Mrs
Williams.
The event gives spectators the
opportunity to watch vintage and
conventional tractors ploughing
as well as an exhibition by the
ever popular heavy horses. The
competition takes place between
9.30am and 4.30pm, and although
entry is free, any money raised
from the event will be given
to local charities on the Island,
with the main beneficiary being
the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
Refreshments will be available on
the day.

on Wednesdays with the ‘Big Night
Out’ Fireworks Extravaganza - and
Robin Hill opens late until 10pm on
Tuesdays and Thursdays with great
summer entertainment. Plus don’t
forget the amazing ‘electric woods’
events in February and October.
A stunning spectacle of
Oriental themed light, sound and
entertainment will mark the coming
of the Chinese New Year at Robin
Hill’s ‘electric woods’ during February
half term. From Saturday, February
14 until Sunday, March 22, visitors
can experience the park’s mystical
woodland illuminated with a far
eastern twist to capture the spirit
of one of the world’s most popular
celebrations.

bookings made inside the terminals, but
