Food round-up
Annual exhibition
M
edina Foodservice have
been running their annual
catering exhibition since
2006 and it is growing every year.
Last year saw over 70 suppliers
demonstrate a selection of their
current and new products, and over
900 people visited to try them, and
gain inspiration for their menus for
the season ahead. Not only that, but
hundreds of people obtained some
massive savings by making their
purchases at the show and taking
advantage of the many promotions
on offer. You can even place your
show orders and have them delivered
months later if you wish, ensuring
that you get products at greatly
discounted prices for the season
ahead.
This year will see the doors of
Newport Football Club open
again, inviting chefs, restaurant
owners, managers and hospitality
representatives alike to see what is on
offer for 2015 for their new menus.
You can have lunch on them at the
Medina Café as well as save a small
fortune.
The Medina Foodservice Catering
Exhibition will be open on Wednesday
February 25 for one day only,
from 10am to 6pm. Entry is free.

the Island
T
he popular Channel Four programme
‘Come Dine With Me’ will be coming to the
Island in the near future. Filming will be taking
place around the Island and in the Portsmouth

Over the course of three nights, three couples

end of the week the best host couple wins a
£1,000 cash prize.
No date has yet been arranged for the
screening of the show, but it is expected to be
later this year.
Wine tasting
at Seaview
A
wine and fish pairing evening is being
held at the Seaview Hotel on Saturday,
March 14, from 7.30pm.
It promises to be a sensational evening
of wine and food pairing. Head chef, Bruce
has created a fresh, coastal four-course fish
menu and Fergus from Majestic Wine has
matched with exquisite wines. Fergus will
explain what wines work well with different
types of fish from the delicate and flaky to
the more robust and salty.
Co-hosted with Majestic Wine, there will be
some interesting combinations including red
wine with fish. Book now for the fish menu,
only £35, or with wine pairing £55.
