Gilten Dinner
charity boost
Around 75 guests attended the annual
Gilten Dinner, which was held at the New
Holmwood Hotel, Cowes.
The dinner provides the opportunity for
the prizes to be presented from the Gilten
Market, which was held at Brickfields just
before Christmas.
The High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Nick
Hayward, attended the dinner, and proposed
the toast to the Gilten Market, which has
been staged on the Island since the late
1800s. The event raised £320 for the High
Sheriff’s charitable trust.
