ISLAND LIFE
Music night for church tower
Around £400 was raised at a charity music night,
held at the Garlic Farm Cafe, Newchurch.
The money will go towards the restoration of the
iconic church tower in Newchurch which is in need
of an £11,000 refurbishment.
Colin Boswell of the Garlic Farm said: “Whether
you go to church or not, the tower in Newchurch is
a feature which everyone recognises, and repairs
need to be carried out to keep it functional.”
The entertainment at the event was provided by
several local acts including gypsy jazz performers
Cat Skellington and a group led by Chris
Parsonson.
