Titanic the musical
heads for Shanklin
The Island Savoyards will be
following their great success
of Disney’s Beauty and the
Beast with their production of
TITANIC –The Musical. The
show will be staged at Shanklin
Theatre from April 12 to 15.
Exactly 100 years after the
sinking of the most famous ship
of all time this performance
coincides with this centenary
date. The Hit musical by Maury
Yeston and Peter Stone won all
five of its nominations in the
1997 Tony awards.
With a beautiful musical
score, Titanic the Musical is a
powerful and dramatic theatre
experience. Featuring a large
scenic design, fully costumed
and a cast of over 50, this will
be one of the largest Musicals
staged on the island this year.
The musical tells the exciting
and emotional story of the
hopes, loves and dreams of the
real passengers and crew as
they set off on their journey
to America, little knowing the
tragic events that await them.
The story, known by all, is
sympathetically told with a
beautiful musical score featuring
a live 20-piece orchestra and
presented in spectacular fashion.
