I have never smoked but I have
lines on my upper lip which I hate. I
am worried that if I have fillers I might
end up with a trout pout. (BS)

Ever since I was a teenager I have
been bleaching the hair on my upper
lip. I would like to have permanent
laser hair removal but I am worried
about having to stop bleaching while I
am having the treatment. (EM)
You make a very good point. In
fact, I remember listening to a lecture
by a plastic surgeon at a conference
and one of his slides was a picture
of the inside of a bathroom cabinet
packed full of his wife’s creams and
lotions. His comment was “the million
dollar con”. OK so it is unbelievable
when adverts for face creams come on
TV and promise you that your lines will
be “visibly improved in 24 hrs” but I
did feel like putting my hand up at the
conference and saying, “Hey, that’s not
true, there are some fantastic products
available which do make a difference.”
My very favourite and inexpensive
skin care regime is to use glycolic (by
Jan Marini) to cleanse and resurface
the skin and hydrating vitamins (by
Environ) to moisturise.

I was scared of that too but the
great news is that we have wonderful
fillers now which are non-permanent
and are very gentle. By far my favourite
filler is Juvederm which causes very

treatment with Juvederm many times
myself and love the result.

I know how you feel. Upper lip
