The Royal Charity Event
The Inaugural IW Youth Trust Gala
Dinner held in December at The Royal
Hotel in Ventnor, raised nearly £40,000,
far exceeding William Bailey's target of
£30,000.
'It's absolutely incredible! We are totally
overwhelmed by the amazing level of
support,' says IW Youth Trust Director
Eileen Monks. 'The money raised will be
going to a new project called The Works
which using a 12 step approach, will help
to support young people who want to
stop their drug use completely.'
William Bailey and Claire Bailey
Auctioneer, Graham Benson whipped
the guests into a frenzy of giving and
succeeded in raising over £16,000. A
mouth-watering £9,000 was bid for the
opportunity to have Michelin star chef,
Robert Thompson, cook for a private
dinner party of 10. The bid was won by
two separate tables who paid £4500 each
and Robert generously agreed to cook for
both. £1500 was bid for the chance to be
whisked off by private helicopter to lunch
at Chewton Glen.
