life - SOCIETY The 29th Annual Christmas Charity Luncheon The event this year was held at The Royal London Yacht Club, Cowes on the 15th December and proved to be the most successful ever raising over £6,000.00 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. The event was organised and hosted as has been the case for all the preceding years by local lawyer Terence Willey with the assistance of Shirley Taylor and represents a very special occasion, including a comprehensive programme of top quality Christmas fayre and wine, professional entertainers, fun and games and complemented with the bagpipes from Dr. Kieron Cooney and Vectis Brass Band providing carols. This event represents the start of the Christmas festivities for those who attend and has proved so popular that is it sold out within a few weeks of the tickets becoming available. Terence Willey comme nted “its success is totally attributable to the true spirit and generosity of all the business and professional people who attend each year and it is very special to be able to support our local Hospice from such an event”.
