“ Will isn ’ t getting any younger and he takes a bit longer about things than other horses ,” says Sarah , “ but he ’ s had a holiday recently and I do believe he ’ s capable of competing at the highest level . “ It ’ s always hard to say for sure , but my ultimate goal would be to compete at 4 * level with Will . “ The latter part of the season was made even better when I received sponsorship from World Equestrian , their clothing kept me looking really smart at the events . I ’ ve also received some fabulous jewellery from Isle of Wight Pearl , which I wear in the dressage phase . It is great to support Island businesses too .” It was through Sarah ’ s support and link of the British Riding Clubs that she and Will were selected to ride for Team GB at the 2 * European Eventing Championships , held at Helvoirt in The Netherlands in 2015 , and she became the first person from the Isle of Wight to ride and compete for Team GB – as well as coming
back with a silver medal . In addition to Will , Sarah says she has a string of exciting prospects for the coming season , including Greenvale Coriado , owned by Caroline Ross , and Harley Brown owned by Ellen Brown . With Gold Flame Guy and the 5 year-old Doonaveeragh Deluxe coming up through the levels , she says it will soon be time to start planning another youngster to bring on . “ With this in mind , after

Blenheim and having had so much support from the Island , I had the idea of an Isle of Wight syndicate in which people can have the experience of following their horse through the stages ” she says . “ It is such a special sport . I have never met so many lovely people who will always remain good friends . There are not many sports where you can go and ask a fellow competitor ’ s advice and know that we all want the same
