Sarah reaches
for the stars
She’s been successfully competing since she was a knee-
high toddler – but the 2017 season has been an especially
memorable one for Island eventing rider Sarah Holmes.

Her biggest thrill was competing at
3* level at Blenheim in September,
with her main horse Lowhill Clover
(affectionately known as Will)
which was bought for her by her
grandfather as a feisty, unbroken

three year-old.
That was 12 years ago, so Sarah
and Will have effectively grown up
together, to become a formidable
pair on the competitive eventing
circuit.
And now she says she’s daring
to hope that they might make
it to a 4* level event, such as at
Badminton, in the next year or so,
before he gets a bit too long in the
tooth.
