The Gilten Market 2017
was an excellent show with
an increase in the number
of cattle tied up, a very
good standard throughout
and fabulous buyer support
for all classes, both from
the mainland and the
Island.
The ‘Gilten’ Beast 2017 went to
Mick Denness’s British Blue x heifer
after close competition with a
couple of good steers from himself
and Matt Legge. The ‘Gilten’ Beast
was once again purchased by very
dedicated and regular supporter and
sponsor, Will Newman of P C Turner,
Farnborough, Hampshire.
A good entry of sheep met a strong
trade with the Championship going
to Matt Legge’s Blue Texel’s. All the
sheep whether in the show or not
received a good trade.
The Gilten Dinner will be on
Saturday 20th January 2018 at the
