Remembering
the fallen
Sunday November 12th saw hundreds of
people attending the Remembrance Service
at Newport’s St Thomas Square cenotaph,
and many more across the Island, all paying
tribute to the men and women killed in
conflicts past and present.
Wreaths were laid by groups and individuals from across the
Island, including Lord Lieutenant Maj Gen Martin White, the
Royal British Legion, ex-services groups, emergency services
and cadets.
Crowds also attended the service at Newport’s memorial,
led by the Reverend Kevin Arkell on Remembrance Day itself,
Saturday 11th.
