Decadeance - a
close encounter
After 2016’s carnival spectacular, this year’s
DECADeANCE - A Closer Encounter of the
9th Kind - with a space and science fiction
inspired theme complete with giant stars
and planets, was another sell out.
Over 700 party goers of all ages dressed decadently as
always in a multitude of themed costumes and other
decadent outfits - dancing through the decades and
enjoying all the usual delights including the photo booth,
having their face glittered and the chance of winning
prizes worth over £2,000 in the Shuffles casino and the
decadent draw.
In addition a surprise appearance by The IOW Garrison
proved to be a massive hit providing a unique selfie
opportunity with a range of Star Wars characters!
DECADeANCE donates all profits to the Earl
Mountbatten Hospice and whilst the final amount raised
was not available at the time of going to press, with over
£2,000 raised on the night it looks like last year’s record
breaking £10,200 is going to be beaten.
DECADeANCE, created by Island DJ Tony Martin as
a one-off party celebrates 10 years next year! so save
the date for ‘A Decade of DECADeANCE’ on the 24th
November 2018.
