Education
Ryde pupils explore,
discover & learn
Exciting Beach and Forest School
sessions have long been a part
of the timetable at Ryde Junior
School and Fiveways.
These run alongside the vibrant
academic curriculum, and allow
children to immerse themselves
in nature, learning skills that
are invaluable to their wider
development. It allows for learning
through discovery, building
confidence and fostering their
natural desire to learn and explore.
Inter-schools maths challenges,
explosive science sessions in
the Senior School, and fun and
educational residential trips like
a night in a museum or a trip to
Salamanca, all help children to
ignite their passion for learning.
Linda Dennis, Head of the Junior
School and Fiveways at Ryde,
firmly believes that this igniting of
childrens’ excitement in learning
is the way to ensure that pupils
and their teachers discover their
individual talents, enabling them
to grow and enhance those
talents, in preparation for Senior
School and the wider world.
Team sports matches against
other schools, on and off the
Island and sailing competitions in
the School’s own fleet of dinghies
also reinforce the team spirit and
healthy competition that are part
of the Junior School and Fiveways
ethos.
The next open morning is on
Saturday 3 February 10.00am
until 12.30pm. Visitors are invited
along for some interesting
activities, a tour of the school and
a complimentary family lunch.
