For real ale lovers, one of those
much-anticipated flavours is Wight
Christmas, the superb seasonal
ale that’s independently produced
right here on the Island – and the

a Gold award in the World Beer
Awards will be available again for
the festive season.
Shalfleet’s family-run Island
Brewery has more cause of
celebration at the World Beer
Awards, with its Earls R.D.A (Rich
Dark Ale) also scooping a Gold.
This hugely popular ale has
also been voted I.O.W Camra
(Campaign for Real Ale) ‘Beer of
the Year’ for the last three years.
Its popularity is also good news
for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice,
which receives 10p from the Isle
of Wight Brewery for every pint
sold.
