Pan Mill Meadows

We recently caused some interest at Pan Mill Meadows , as we dismantled some trees along the road by the Matalan round-about . Although very visual , it is only part of the work that we are doing on the Nature Reserve . By removing the trees we have been able to create new habitats for both humans and wildlife . The tree trail has an improved path , allowing you to use it without getting muddy . If you haven ’ t found this Gift to Nature gem , it ’ s well worth a visit .
Making BB21 better for all !
Footpath BB21 forms part of the route linking Bembridge Windmill and Brading . For much of its course it follows the historic harbour wall of Brading Haven and offers wonderful views across the RSPB ’ s Brading Marshes Reserve . Now , thanks to the dedicated input of volunteers from the IW Ramblers , Bembridge Green Town and Bembridge Parish Lengthsmen and a skilled team of contractors the most treacherous 300m stretch of the path has been re-laid and widened . Thanks also go to the landowners Laurence Taylor and Peter and Alice Summerhayes .

To mow or not to mow
Following recent work at several of our sites , some people have voiced concern that we have been removing trees and scrub . We have a delicate balance to strike every year , when we choose what time to cut the grass and hedges . We understand it may look a bit severe at first , but please bear with us . The benefits of this work will show when the plants start to come back . www . visitilife . com 73
