Island pupils achieve national success

Ryde School Senior Mathematics Team won the 2016 South East Regional ( Portsmouth ) Final of the UK Mathematics Trust Senior Team Maths Challenge this month .
Eleven schools competed in the regional final and Ryde ’ s Maths Team , including Island pupils Wilf , Daniel and Jajeevan and International Boarder Jessie , beat the competition to take first place and qualify for the National Final in 2017 . Over 1,200 schools competed this year across the UK and only 88 teams will go through to the national finals . Ryde ’ s latest A level results ( over a third of entries graded at A */ A and 68 % B or above ) and IB results ( 35.1 points average ) enabled pupils to secure places at Cambridge , Medical Schools , Russell Group Universities and overseas , with some travelling to China to teach in their GAP year . With three study programmes for Sixth Form at Ryde
School , pupils can study the International Baccalaureate Diploma or Career-related Programmes or A Levels plus extra enrichment options , ensuring pupils have as much choice as possible to further their talents and study in their chosen field . The next Open Day for Ryde School is Saturday 4 February 2017 .
