Swimming for charity
A
Boxing Day swim is being held
at Gurnard to raise funds for
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Ashton Howard was diagnosed in
January with Acute Lymphoblastic
Leukaemia and said: “This year has been
the most challenging of my life after
being diagnosed in January. I underwent
a gruelling 10 months of chemotherapy,
much of which was spent in isolation
due to my weakened immune system.
I owe my recovery to the progress in
medicine funded by Leukaemia and
Lymphoma research which works to
advance the treatment and improve the
lives of people with blood cancer.
“My family, friends and I would like
to show our appreciation by braving a
Boxing Day dip and to raise funds. It
will take place at Gurnard at 11.30am,
meeting at Gurnard Green and all are
welcome. If you would like to make a
donation visit: www.justgiving.com/
