THE HOSPICE Latest news and information from the Earl Mountbatten Hospice... Walk this way... Walk the Wight is now the biggest fundraising event on the Island, and many individual achievements were celebrated at the Walk the Wight Awards night. More than 10,500 people Walked the Wight in 2013, raising a fantastic £229,664.33 for patient care at the Hospice. Dani Johnson from Fundraising said: “Thanks to everyone who has supported us. We look forward to seeing you again in 2014!” * Walk the Wight 2014 is on Sunday May 11. You can register from Friday 3 January at www.iwhospice.org Thank you schools! In 2013, 54 schools Walked the Wight, and Shanklin Church of England Primary raised the most money. Head Girl Ellie Baker, 10, and Head Boy Cameron Cooke, 10, were presented with a trophy at the Walk the Wight Awards 2013. Congratulations and many thanks to all the children who support the Hospice. Remember someone special You are warmly invited to the Hospice’s Lights of Love services being held across the Island this Christmas. These are very special services to commemorate the lives of people who have meant so much to us over the years. Candles will be lit and there will be prayers, hymns and inspirational readings. The dates are on the Hospice’s website, so please come and remember your loved ones, in a supportive and understanding environment. Welcome visitors Children are visiting the Hospice as part of a new Schools’ Project.
