Recruit volunteers are required to work alongside the Shop Manager as shop assistants and/or donation sorters to support the new venture. Retail experience is not necessary as training for both roles will take place at the Donation and Distribution Centre on the Riverway Estate, Newport. John Cheverton Centre now open Earl Mountbatten Hospice John Cheverton Centre opened in September and is a new development for the Hospice and the Isle of Wight. It provides a range of services in a much improved environment and combines information, education, social and therapeutic activity for 42 www.visitislandlife.com those suffering from any life-limiting illness. Named after John Cheverton, whose estate generously provided a substantial donation, the Centre also received private legacies and grant funding from the Department of Health.
