Medina College
will rock you!
Medina College students are to
perform the musical ‘We Will Rock
You’, with all profits going to the AIDS
awareness charity, the Mercury Phoenix
Trust set up in the memory of Queen
front man Freddie Mercury.
The ambitious and exciting show,
written by Queen and Ben Elton is a
futuristic tale which tells of a massive
corporation, Globalsoft, which sends
computer generated music to all of the
people on the planet. Singing, musical
instruments, and any expression of
creativity, are banned. But Lost Texts
are known to exist which talk of music
from years gone by.
A group of rebels (the Bohemians)
strive to discover the lost music, and
bring down the corporation. The two
heroes, Galileo and Scaramouche,
discover musical instruments buried
in rock, which they use to vaporise the
head of the corporation (The Killer
Queen), and send the Power of Rock
around the world to free the masses,
enabling them to be musically creative
once again.
The show takes place on December
14, 15 and 16 from 7.30pm at the
Medina Theatre. Tickets are priced £8

Roman Villa film season

Brading Roman Villa continues
its mini film season with
two screenings at the end of
December.
Forum Films present Mr
Popper’s Penguins, a family fun
film starring Jim Carrey, which
will be screened in the Forum
Cafe at 3.0pm on December 29.
The re-make of the classic Jane
Eyre, starring Dame Judi Dench,

will be shown at the same venue
on December 30, starting at
7.0pm, with the audience also
able to enjoy mulled wine and
minced pies.
The Forum Cafe can
accommodate 100 people, so
anyone wishing to see a film is
