Leader Plus Grants Help Crab and Lobster’s
Make Christmas Merry!! quality rewarded
Everyone at Three Gates
Farm (home of Calbourne
Classics) has been working
hard this year. With the help
of Leader Plus funding they
now offer more than the
original portfolio of Ice Cream,
Cheesecakes, Country Cakes
and Clotted Cream with new
and exciting changes taking
place within the business.
Louise Hart has worked closely
with her mother, Jill Cawood,
to offer School Trips, an Online
Cake delivery service and also
the first Isle of Wight Yoghurt,
using the farm’s Freedom Food
Accredited Milk. Mince Pies,
Christmas Cakes & Christmas
Puddings can be ordered
now for Christmas delivery
within a designer Emma Ball
tin. ‘So far the feedback has
been extremely positive, with
hundreds of mince pies sent
out last year, we’re hoping for
a similar response this year’
Said Louise ‘Such great gifts
when the quality of food is
often one of the keys to a
Merry Christmas!’
IT’s official. The Crab And
Lobster, Bembridge, is the
Good Pub Guide’s Isle of
Wight Dining Pub of the Year,
2010.
“What makes it really fantastic
is it means our customers
bothered to write to the
Guide, which then sent out
a sneaky officer to have
a meal,” says proprietor
Caroline Quekett. “We didn’t
know they had come but
they obviously enjoyed their
evening.”
It goes without saying that
the Crab’s customers love its
seafood. Lobster is freshly
caught daily – weather,
of course, permitting.
Open all day for drinks,
there is a limited all-day
menu at weekends in the
family-friendly, dog-friendly
and walker-friendly bar.
