Irresistible style at
Little Nippers
THE trouble with Little Nippers
is that you want it all for your
child. It’s hard to go back to
putting him or her in ordinary
clothes once they’ve worn the
best.
French styling, organic fabrics,
robust construction: these are
clothes that will still be looking
gorgeous when the next baby
comes along.
“Our Frugi cotton range will
wash and wash, yet it’s so soft
that it is perfect for children
with sensitive skin,” says Lisa
Boynton, proprietor of Little
Nippers. She points out some
sweet little tunic dresses which
team with matching leggings.
“And you don’t have to iron it.
For a mum that’s amazing.”
As well as a loyal Island-wide
customer base, mainland visitors
are increasing. “Sales through
my website have grown often
because summer visitors bring
something home for
their grandchildren,
and their parents
want more!” Girls’
winter wool coats,
made in Scotland,
and trimmed with a
faux fur muff, are this
season’s too good to
miss item.
It is as easy to
spoil grandsons: Frugi make
double-lined animal print cargo
trousers, and it’s hard not to
team them with a wolf or
racoon top. “The hooded jackets
with fleece linings make a good
ensemble,” says Lisa.
For newborns, locally made
booties, mittens and matinee
coats have joined the stock of
gorgeous styles by Emile et Rose,
among other must-have ranges.
Many-textured Lamaze toys,
such as the octopus with musical
legs, are made to stimulate as
well as sooth a child.
This is a beautiful shop for
0-5s. Calm and quiet yet
vibrant with style and quality,
it gives busy mums a moment
to appreciate what fun being a
parent can be.
