2009 Hunt Ball
Don’t miss the Isle of Wight Hunt
Ball. It’s the social occasion of the
year and the event where everyone
is welcome to let their hair down
and enjoy themselves, whether they
hunt or not. Many visitors from
the mainland make a special visit to
the Island just to attend this event,
which is a major fund-raiser for the
Isle of Wight Foxhounds.
As before, this glamorous black tie
occasion will be held in a beautiful
traditional marquee in the grounds
of one of the island’s most stunning
houses. The evening traditionally
begins with cocktails on the lawn
followed by dinner and a breakfast
will be served after midnight. This
year, the ticket price will include
wine and soft drinks on the table,
but a licensed bar will also be
available.
Dinner will be interspersed with
the popular Heads and Tails game
as well as the hotly-contested Horn
Blowing competition for which a
trophy is kindly donated by Mrs Viv
Jones. Dancing will be to a top band
as well as the Island’s well-known
disco man, Tony Martin.
Applications for tickets for the
fourth running of the marquee ball
will be invited in February, when the
location for this prestigious event
will be announced. Tickets will be
strictly limited and arranged on a
‘first come first served basis’, so put
the date in your diary, organise your
friends and prepare to dance until
the small hours. Tables will be for
10 guests and carriages will be at
2am.
Island Life is pleased to support
the Isle of Wight Hunt Ball and will
be covering the event for the social
pages of this magazine.
