with the Aston Martin
James Bond Island Premiere
They were shaken and stirred.
A charity screening of the latest
Bond film, Quantum of Solace,
raised over £1,500 for the Earl
Mountbatten Hospice.
The event was given by
Seaworld, and for £17.50
guests had the rare privilege of
seeing the film, screened in the
deluxe suite at Cine World the
night before it went on general
release.
The evening wasn’t just about
Daniel Craig on the silver screen,
though. Here was Bond in the
flesh: - Steve Apsey, head of
Yellow House at Sandown High
School took on the role for the
evening.
A vodka martini was given to
everyone as they arrived – what
else? And the Aston Martin for
the evening was on loan from
its owner, Martin Grinsted of
Ryde. There was even an Aston
DBS bonnet on display, made by
Island firm Gurit, which makes
the carbon panels for the Aston
DBS as used in the film.
Thanks to the generosity of
Estelle Raymond
