Cheese straight
from local cows
Richard Hodgson and his mother
Julie are over the moon after having
produced their first batch of Isle
of Wight cheese. Julie Hodgson,
who previously owned a hotel in
Totland, started planning the her
new business of producing Isle of
Wight butter and cheese from local
cows prior to selling the hotel.
Richard, 27, who previously
worked as a freelance TV editor in
Newcastle, reckoned it was such
a good idea that he gave up the TV
job to come and help his mother.
That was a year ago, and since
then Richard has spent all his time
sourcing the necessary equipment
from Germany and Holland, and
setting up the business. Now he
and Julie are delighted that all their
hard work is finally starting to show
results.
