Farewell reception
for Lord Lieutenant
There was a good attendance for the
Lord Lieutenants (Mr Christopher
Bland) farewell reception which was
held at the Royal Yacht Squadron
on 4th October. Christopher Bland
has served the Isle of Wight with
distinction for the past 11 years
and has overseen many Royal visits
including the visit of Her Majesty

the Queen to the Island in 2004. Mr
Bland now proposes to spend more
time enjoying his hobbies which
include flying his Tiger Moth, sailing
and cycling. Cllr. Charles Chapman
commented “I’m sorry to see Mr
Bland go, however it’s nice that he
can now spend more time with his
family”
