On Monday 31st July HRH The Princess
Royal, President of the RDA, visited the
Isle of Wight Pony Driving for Disabled
Group, in the grounds of Osborne
House.
The main reason for The Princess
Royal’s visit was to present long service
awards to volunteers who have been
helping the disabled driving group for a
number of years.
Jean Winter, president of the group,
was awarded a certificate for 40 years
volunteering and 3 others received
certificates for 25 years volunteering. A
long service award was given to Pocus
the pony for 15 years service.
The Princess also watched a
demonstration of driving by the
disabled whips. Volunteers are needed
to help the group in many ways. Phone
Gill on 01983 898103.
