The dress code was deemed
informal to differentiate it ahead of a
big bash planned for the Club’s 125th
anniversary in 2018.
The evening started with drinks
on the race deck with its panoramic
views as far as Southampton Water
to the West, and Bembridge Life Boat
station to the East – an experience
enjoyed by members with glasses
in hand, watching the colourful
Sea View One Design (SVOD) Class
dinghy race, which was followed by a
majestic sun set.
Members, young and old, then sat
down to a sumptuous dinner and
danced into the night under the stars
without a care in the world. Lying
ahead for both locals and visiting
members alike were Sailing courses
and the gruelling weeks of summer
socialising.
