Air Ambulance Fun Day

Taking place at Sandown Airport on September 17 from 11am - 4pm is the first Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Fun Day . There will be fun for all the family with face painting , kids activities , a vintage fun fair , a BBQ and much more . There will also be a chance to meet representatives from other emergency services , and appearances from the HIOWAA mascots , Teddy Medic , Pilot Paws and Herocopter . Bring the family and support an important , life-saving organisation .

Events for the donkeys

The Donkey Sanctuary at Wroxall have several events coming up in August and September , including a Scottish Fiddlers concert on Sunday August 28 which features live music from The Scottish Fiddlers . Then in September , Sunday 4 sees a Harvest Festival , while on Sunday 18 there is the Autumn ‘ Festival of the Donkey ’ Open Day , which is a celebration of the work of donkeys and has stalls and entertainment . Behind The Mask is a magical exhibition of masks from the world at Brading Roman Villa , with the emphasis on the uses and tools of the mask in theatre with influences from other decorative sources . The mask is a tool of transformation and a unique medium through which human beings can express their consciousness of themselves and others . This exhibition displays masks carved in wood , formed in papier mache , card , wool paper , leather , and fibre glass . The choice of many of the maskmakers is informed by both legacy and tradition and the method of making is refracted through these . In this beautiful and engaging exhibition masks are revealed to be a form of moving sculpture . The exhibition is running until the end of September at Brading Roman Villa .
