OUT & ABOUT
Get ready for
Bestival
2015!
T
he wonderful world of Bestival
was born out of ten fun years
of pioneering music events and
record releases from Rob da Bank’s
Sunday Best empire. The renowned
music specialist had a dream to one day
create his vision of how the modern day
festival should be.
Along with Creative Director and wife
Josie da Bank and co founders / partners
John and Ziggy from Get Involved that
dream is now fulfilled. On a mission to
change the face of independent festival
culture, the fearless foursome are
bringing some magic to the shores of the
Solent and spreading the love worldwide.
It’s Rob and Josie da Bank’s creative
vision that sets Bestival apart. Whilst the
massive musical brain of Rob ensures the
Bestival line-up is the most eclectic you’ll
ever experience, it’s Josie’s creative wand
that casts its magic over Bestival land.
From the most original boutique
campsite experience, to the Bollywood
Cocktail Bar, a Wishing Tree Stage, fancy
dress en-masse and even a landlocked
Port, it’s this uniqueness that makes
Bestival a wondrous world of discovery
and adventure that will inspire peace,
love and dancing not only in September
but all year round...
This years Bestival is set to be a show
stopper. The Bestival has grown over
the years to become the local’s favourite
festival. Rob Da Bank, festival organiser
wanted a festival that the whole family
could enjoy, and this ethos has led to the
success of the festival year after year.
Its not just about the music, its the
whole atmosphere, the fancy dress on
the Saturday has proved a big hit with
1,000’s of festival goers getting into the
spirit of the event.
Food also plays a big part, “we try to
balance the food served at the festival,
we offer a really good choice on-site, and
we do our best to ensure it’s quality food
thats not too expensive.” This year we
have some great food stalls such as Hang
Fire Smokehouse, The Coffee Camper,
Happy Maki, Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen,
Korrito, Le Rac Shack, Seadog Makatcha,
Thoroughly Wild Meat Co., Biblos Lemlem
Kitchen, Elephant Juice, Morty & Bob’s,
Crabbieshack, The Hempiness Kitchen.
The Bestival this year is not short on
good acts either. Appearing are Duran
Duran, Missy Elliott, The Chemical
Brothers, Rudimental just to name a few.
As usual there is a great mix of other
entertainment such as DJ’s, Comedy
Club, and an abundance of funky stalls.
