Sunfl wer ball celebration T o celebrate the the 25th anniversary of Walk the Wight, Jewson Moreys organised a ‘Sunflower Ball ‘ on July 18 at Cowes Yacht Haven. It was attended by over 240 customers, suppliers and hospice staff and in excess of £8,000 was raised. Five years ago the ball raised over £4,000 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and Ron Bowler, General Manager for Jewson 36 www.visitilife.com Moreys, hoped that the 2015 event would double that. An auction hosted by Rebecca Ball and Rex Gully of Hose Rhodes Dickson raised in excess of £3,000 with lots as diverse as a ukulele with lessons to a holiday for two to Malta and a pair of England football shorts signed by David Beckham. Aaron Isted kicked off the entertainment, amazing diners with his close-up magic tricks. Afterwards revellers let their hair down to live music provided by the talented Juice Box. Nikkie Jones, who pulled the event together, received a bouquet and a bottle of bubbly for all her hard work in making the event the success it was .
