COUNTRY LIFE Pictures available to buy online from our website: visitilife.com Something for everyone at Royal County Show T his year’s Royal Isle of Wight County Show proved extremely popular with competitors, exhibitors and spectators alike, with more than 6,000 people enjoying the event. The show was opened by the High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Claire Locke, accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant Maj. Gen. Martin White, the show president. The guest of honour was Lord De Mauley, the Under Secretary of State 68 www.visitilife.com for Agriculture. The show had many of the traditions of days gone by, but there was also plenty of new themes to keep everyone entertained throughout the day at the Northwood show ground site. The show was particularly well supported by the Island farming industry, with good support for the cattle and sheep classes, showcasing the best of Island agriculture.
