Mercedes C-Class
Test driven on the Island by Peter White
From the moment I cast my eyes over
the new Mercedes C-Class, I wanted to
get inside the cabin and feel the thrill
of driving this latest superb piece of
motoring expertise, launched in June.
And it almost goes without saying that
my expectations were soon fully realised,
as it roared into life once I pressed the
keyless stop-start button.
Not only does it look sleek and
eye-catching from the outside, it has
all the state-of-the-art technology and
equipment within to make driving it a
dream, although I have to say it did take
me a few minutes to familiarise myself
with all the options available.
The C250 BlueTEC AMG diesel, which
I drove courtesy of Esplanade, Medina
Avenue, Newport, is a seven-speed
automatic, and with 49 per cent of the
car made of aluminium, it makes it much
lighter, mo &Rv
