o what do you get if you
choose the Ryde School
experience?
First, of course, is the
culmination of the excellent
preparation for public exams,
but Ryde School is by no
means an exam factory.
Sometimes it is hard to see
how students and staff fit in
so much in a day. It is part
and parcel of the excellent all
round community cited by
recent ISI inspectors.
There's a huge range of
extra curricular activities,
all preparing pupils for
life beyond school. Sailing
regattas, cricket, rounders,
tennis, athletics, sports
days and Year 8 on French
Exchange. There is also
taking part in the Portsmouth
Festivities, Adventurous
Training with the CCF, the

Silver and Gold Duke of
Edinburgh Award with
students on expedition in
Dartmoor and the Lake
District.
There was also the Music
Tour to Italy, an enrichment
week which included a
reading retreat for sixth
formers and Year 9s fusing art
and words to create books and
images for younger pupils.
Others danced, sang and
acted in three productions,
Stella the Starfish in Fiveways,
Joseph and his Amazing
Technicolour Dreamcoat in
the Junior School and Guys
and Dolls in the Senior School.
And that's just a taste of some
of the many things on offer!
Plenty of opportunities to be
part of something amazing.
