footpaths, buildings became used by
marine orientated businesses such as the
Ariadne Sailing School and the boatyard
workshops. Until recently the crane that
stood on the base at St Helens Quay was
still being used by various boatyards.
Standing proudly just around the
corner at St Helens Duver is the tower of
St Helens Old Church. The old church
dates from 704 when Bishop Wilfred
brought Christianity to the Island.
