Twins Gluton
Free move to
Mottistone
T
wins Margaret and
Kathrine have the
skills and experience
to support people with gluten
and wheat free dietary needs,
and have recently begun using
the kitchens at Mottistone
Farm Shop, where their
produce can now be bought.
You can visit the Twins
Gluton Free at the Farm Shop,
or ring through your order,
and recipes can be adapted for
any additional dietary needs.
The twins can also be found
at Newport and Ryde Farmers
Markets, and they have been
invited to three Coeliac Food
festivals over the last three
years, as well as supplying
Queenswood Natural Foods
in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Margaret said: “Using the
Farmers Markets as ‘market
research’ we have been
overwhelmed by the feed
back we get weekly. Customers
love the choices, and are
delighted and impressed with
the quality and flavour. Using
our pastry they can make their
own favourite recipes at last.
We have customers placing
orders for the following
markets and regulars coming
back for more, and can’t
believe the choice. But what
is also exciting is that people
who don’t have a gluten free
dietary requirement also say
our food is delicious.
“We bake using local dairy
cheese, goats cheese, eggs, wild
beef and vegetables, all mainly
supplied from other stall
holders. Our pastry has been
tested gluten free, dairy and
soya free.”
Twins Gluton Free at
Mottistone Farm Shop is open
11am to 5pm, Wednesday to
Sunday.

Minghella and Briddlesford join forces
B
riddlesford Lodge
Farm and Minghella
Ice Cream have joined
forces to produce what both
parties believe to be the perfect
blends for all tastes.
For the past couple of months
Paul Griffin at Briddlesford
Farm has been supplying
milk to the Wootton-based
Minghella factory from his
150 Guernsey cows just a mile
or so up the road. He said:
“We are producing gold top
Channel Island milk for their
ice creams, and the feedback
has been very good. We are
delighted that Minghella are
now using only our
milk, and already
people are saying
they can taste the
difference in the
ice cream. It is
obviously cutting
the food miles down
being so close to
each other, and we
are supplying what
we believe to be the
best milk on the
Island.”
Minghella have
been producing their popular
range of ice cream and sorbet
for more than 60 years, and
continue to introduce new
luxury flavours into their
award-winning range. Now all
are made with fresh milk and
cream from the nearby farms
with only the finest natural
ingredients and not a single
drop of water. Their ice creams
are suitable for vegetarians
and are almost all gluten-free
unless stated otherwise.
