FOOD The Shed: Cosy and quirky T he Shed, Bembridge provides the ideal setting for those wishing to sample fine food and drink in a cosy, inviting atmosphere, but with that feeling of ‘this is a bit different’! The Shed is contemporary, with a touch of Mediterranean, complemented by bold flavours and decor that is pleasing to the eye. Situated in the village High Street, as soon as you walk into The Shed you can see and feel it’s not your usual run-of-the-mill eatery. It may be the comfortable sofas, sparkling lights or fresh flowers that catch your eye. Or it could be the sun-trap courtyard garden, with its sail canopies, beach art, bunting and sun shades. Then of course there’s the pavement cafe shaded by a stripy awning. It all adds up to a venue that’s a bit quirky, but one that you are bound to enjoy. The food is locally sourced wherever possible, prepared on the premises and cooked to order, and comprises a subtle choice ranging from ‘choose-what-youwant’ tasty tapas to sharing platters. And you will soon discover that the dishes are fully flavoured, with blends that whisk you all around the world without having to move from your table! The choice is extensive - whether it’s a light snack or a main meal, friendly staff at The Shed are there to cater for all your needs.
