Dental implants can
bring back the smiles
Are you missing one or more teeth?
Do you have difficulty eating certain
foods or speaking clearly due to
tooth loss? Or do you suffer from the
discomfort of ill-fitting dentures?
Then dental implants are the
way forward, and they have many
advantages. They look, feel and
function like your natural teeth and
they allow you to eat laugh and smile
naturally. Healthy teeth do not need
to be ground down to support dental
implants. Anchoring dental implants
in the jawbone stimulate bone growth,
arresting the on- going bone loss
which occurs after a tooth is extracted,
ensuring an aesthetic result which help
to maintain facial structures.
Denture wearers, especially those
who wear full dentures, know that
dentures do not fit securely after a
few years. This is due to the bone loss
which can become so severe that it
becomes impossible to wear dentures
successfully. Complex bone grafting
procedures and implant placement are
then required.
Dental implants do not require any
adhesives to hold the new teeth in
place, and eliminate the discomfort
and insecurity of loose ill-fitting
dentures. There is no upper age limit
for placing dental implants and no

absolute contra-indications for
placing dental implants.
A dental implant is now accepted
as the optimal solution for anyone
who is missing one or more teeth.
When several teeth are missing,
separate crowns on dental implants
or a bridge attached to two or more
implants are the options.
When all teeth are missing in either
upper or lower or both jaws, a full
fixed bridge supported by dental
implants or an implant retained
denture can be done. The implant
retained denture is easily removed
but will remain securely anchored
during function and you will be spared
the embarrassment of conventional
denture wearers when their dentures
dislodge during eating out, speaking
and laughing in company.
Dr Amaanula (Manu) Sattar owner/
principal of Newport Dental &
Oral Health Studio, 97 High Street,
Newport is eminently qualified to
perform dental implant treatment
and full mouth rehabilitation, having
attained two masters’ degrees in
dentistry: one specifically for implants
and the other for advanced restorative
work. Dr Sattar has attained
postgraduate degrees in Germany,
London, and South Africa and has
BEFORE
AFTER
undergone advanced training in the
use of CT scans in computer guided
implant placement. This technique is
especially useful where severe atrophy
of the jawbone has occurred.
Computer guided implant placement
allows analysis of the density and
volume of the bone so that there is
no doubt as to the best position for
the implants and to ensure that vital
anatomical structures such as nerves
and blood vessels are not damaged.
Implant placement is basically a three
dimensional problem of the implant
itself and the anatomical site where the
implant is to be placed. The advanced
computer guided implant placement
allows the jaws to be visualised
accurately in 3-Dimension.
Dr Sattar can demonstrate a large
portfolio of successfully completed
implant and prosthodontics cases and
can be contacted on 01983 716101 to
