Revellers have fun at
Bembridge as the village
harbour celebrates a
milestone anniversary
Many events were enjoyed
by locals and visitors at the
Bembridge Celebration weekend.
Beach games, sandcastle building
and a fancy dress competition
kept the children busy, while
paddleboard and kayak races kept
the energetic entertained.
Outside the harbour the
Bembridge Sailing Club Village
Regatta enjoyed light conditions
for their racing whilst radio

controlled model yachts competed
in a series of hotly contested races
inside the Harbour.
The Lord Lieutenant manned
the oars of the historic lifeboat the
Queen Victoria, and entered the
harbour to transfer to the current
RNLI Bembridge Lifeboat via
their support vessel.
The open air ‘Street Market’ at
Bembridge Point was an all-Island
affair, with a beer tent, freshly
