largest of a three-hotel complex that
also includes the Don Pedro and Don
Marco. Although a typical Spanish
hotel from the outside, the Don Pablo
has retained many architectural and
eye-catching features inside, giving it a
sedate, inviting feel.
The spotless and tastefully decorated
en suite rooms, many with sea views,
are air-conditioned and come with all
of the modern amenities you come to
expect. Starting as a 10-room hostel
in the early sixties the Sol Don Pedro
grew to its current size in 1973, just
as the international tourist boom was
starting to explode. The hotel was
inaugurated the following year with
440 rooms, but during our stay there
was no sense of overcrowding.
There were ample sunbathing spaces
around or away from a plethora of
swimming and/or paddling pools.
There were also synthetic bowling
greens and table tennis facilities, with
regular competitions for guests.
