County Show:

A huge success
The new-look Royal Isle of Wight
County Show was hailed a huge
success when it was staged at its
familiar site at Northwood.
The revamped and streamlined Show
was held on just one day this year for
the first time, and with the weather
staying fine a capacity crowd of 5,000
enjoyed a full line-up of entertainment.
Its popularity should ensure the Show’s
future for years to come.
The Main Ring was again the main
focus of attention with the action lasting
all day and including Carriage driving
and the livestock champions’ parade.
A small animal farm proved popular
with youngsters, and the traditional
village green was the perfect place to
relax and have a picnic or cream tea
and enjoy the entertainment.
