Matt Noyce is head gardener
at Quarr Abbey, and is
responsible for the 200 acres
of gardens, pastureland,
vegetable plot and private
woodland on the estate.

Green and lush at Quarr
At a time when everything should start
to look browned off and thirsty, the
land of Quarr Abbey is looking as lush
and green as ever.
The trees on the estate stand
proudly with heavy boughs as do the
orchard trees with branches laden
with ever expanding fruits. The speed
at which some of these plants grow
is astonishing, too. The squashes,
cucumber and courgette plants seem
to trail as soon as you turn your back.
