The Earl Mountbatten
Hospice took a moment to
reflect and celebrate its
vital role in the Island
Community at its
annual Grand Sunflower
Ball. The celebration
took place in the
sophisticated surroundings
of The Royal Corinthian
Yacht Club in Cowes.
Guests were greeted with drinks
on arrival and were stunned by the beautiful
Sunflower themed table centrepieces, generously
supplied by Doris Pinks Florists, before taking
their seats for the three course meal.
Guests tucked into a wonderful menu created
by The Royal Corinthian’s skilled chefs, before
loosening their bow ties and taking to the dance
floor.
IW Radio’s Glyn Taylor presided over
proceedings and got everyone on their feet
before two very well received sets from renowned
Island band Cornerstone. The band thrilled the
crowd with their full band treatments of classic
covers, taking dancers on a journey through
the decades and genres, and received a great
reception from the crowd.
Alongside all of the entertainment there was
a very well supported raffle, with the guests
generously raising over £500 towards patient
care through raffle ticket sales alone.
The Grand Sunflower was graciously supported
by Moreys, Isle of Wight Pearl, IW Radio and
Doris Pinks Florists, all of whom are loyal and
valued supporters of the Earl Mountbatten
Hospice.
The ball also benefited from the hosting
skills of Rod and his team of staff at the Royal
Corinthian Yacht Club, whose wonderful dinner
and hospitality helped make the night a great
success.
