Judith receives top art award
Island artist Judith Barton, a member of the
internationally acclaimed Society of Women
Artists, has received another award in the
Annual Exhibition at the prestigious Mall
Galleries in London.
Judith was presented with an engraved rock
crystal Plaque by HRH Princess Michael of
Kent, the patron of the Society.
Her latest work from her ‘Once in a Lifetime’
series is titled ‘Old Mrs. Little and Jimmy’ and
won the award for the most original painting at
the Society's 150th Annual Exhibition.
There was a stunning retrospective exhibition
in the East Gallery showing eminent former
members, and it was in the illustrious
retrospective wing that 'Old Mrs Little and
Jimmy' hung rubbing shoulders with the greats.
Judith's inspiration for this painting was
an early and vivid childhood memory. The
painting was greatly admired and the award
Judith received was probably the most
inspirational award an artist can receive.
