BUSINESS Wight Ironing takes the strain Stubbings Brothers ready to help Wight Ironing Services was established in 1996, the first and also the oldest ironing service on the Island. The idea was borne out of the statistic that ironing was most ladies’ pet hate. For Ian and Shirley Dockray, the founders, it was a little something to potter with after a hectic former business life. However, over the last decade they have seen the business blossom, employing a number of happy ironing ladies. Ian said: “We like to think our success is down to good business standards, high quality service and customer satisfaction that leads to further custom. “Our clients are both domestic and commercial and we service many of the Island’s pubs and small guest houses as well as households across the Island. In an age where the majority of women work, we believe the last thing they want to do is use their spare time standing behind an ironing board. “So a few pounds spent on an ironing service makes life that much more bearable.
