country life Island Life - August/September 2010 Wildlife Investors Seaview Wildlife Encounter has become a Wildlife Investor (business supporter) of the Wildlife Trust. Seaview Wildlife is situated on the north-east corner of the Isle of Wight in a beautiful parkland setting, with waterfalls, lakes and dramatic views across the Solent. Since opening in 1971 a steady process of investment and development has resulted in the creation of a diverse wildlife haven with an amazing array of exotic birds and animals. As a successful company established for 39 years and having very strong roots on the Island, the business decided to become a Wildlife Investor to put something back into the community and to help preserve the unique wildlife habitats of the Isle of Wight and Hampshire. The Park is very keen to become involved with projects and fund raising initiatives to educate visitors in appreciating and respecting our beautiful countryside. To find out more about the Wildlife Investor scheme, please see http://www.hwt. org.uk/pages/corporate-support.html Our contact address: Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Beechcroft House, Vicarage Lane, Curdridge, Hampshire SO32 2DP 2010 Wildlife Survey – why not take part! 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity and to celebrate the occasion, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust has launched a simple wildlife survey that everyone can take part in over the summer months. Our wildlife is under threat from habitat loss and needs our help so we are asking Hampshire residents if they have seen any of the following species this year; frog, house sparrow, hedgehog, slow worm, red admiral butterfly and stag beetle.
